Solar for Business
- Reduce System & Installation Costs
Victorian small, medium and family businesses are saving on average more than $2,000 per year from their energy bills by installing solar power systems.
Sun Station is an Authorised Solar Provider under the Victorian State Government’s Solar for Business Program. A rebate and solar loan option is available.
Below are a few key things you’ll need to consider when choosing a solar system that best meets your business needs.
Does my business still get Rebate or Incentives for Solar Installation?
Yes. Solar systems up to 30kw for commercial premises are eligible to get STC rebate/incentives if it is installed by accredited solar installer and solar retailer.
When do you use electricity?
Solar panels generate electricity during the day when the sun is shining. If your business consumes most of its electricity during daylight hours you are more likely to get best value from solar.
That doesn’t mean that only nine-to-five businesses benefit from solar. Even if you operate in the evening or at night, as long as you consume some electricity during the day, and we can assist you to set your system to meet that use, your business can benefit from solar.
What does your electricity bill say?
-
Matching the size of your system to your electricity use means you’ll get the most from your investment.
-
Understanding how much electricity your business uses will help work out what size system is best for you. The more solar power you use during business hours, the less energy you’ll need to buy from the grid.
How much space do you have?
-
Your businesses may be limited by roof space available or may have just enough. Whichever category you fall under sizing is important.
-
Weight is one of the biggest factors when it comes to installing a commercial-sized solar system on the roof of a business. It is important that a structural engineering certificate is produced and an engineer has physically inspected the site.
Can you connect solar to the electricity grid?
-
Check with your installer and your electricity distributor before agreeing to install a solar system. You need your distributor's approval to connect your system to the grid.
-
The connection process may differ depending on whether you want to export electricity to the grid, and the size of your system.
-
We're here to find you the best solution for your business!
The benefit of the interest free loan is that you can pay back the loan using the significant savings achieved by reducing power bills.
